The type and value of California life insurance that is appropriate for you depends partly on your stage of life at any given time. This applies for single, divorced and widowed persons, just as it does for married people and parents.

People who go through divorce may want to keep their life insurance policy going, especially if the members of the couple are still linked through children or assets. In cases where one ex-spouse pays child support to the other, life insurance may be important to keep that income going if he or she should pass away.

Singles without children may feel they do not need life insurance, but might want to consider it if they have aging parents to care for and whom they are concerned about. Some singles may decide to take out life insurance and nominate a charity, group or even individuals such as siblings or friends as beneficiaries. Life insurance is generally easier to enter into and less costly for a young healthy single person than for someone older.

Older, widowed people may decide to continue their life insurance or to purchase a policy to cover their funeral and burial costs, or even to pay out any existing debts. It is important to remember that life insurance costs more for an older person. In any case, when considering buying California life insurance it’s important to be prepared to do lots of research and to get several quotes before committing yourself to a policy – one of our agents would be happy to assist you with this.
