This course improves upon your current driving skills, as well as your knowledge of the rules of the road. Since this is an online program, you will be able to complete the course from the convenience of your own home at your own pace.
While taking this course you will learn:
• Defensive driving techniques
• Current rules of the road
• The effect of medications while driving
• How to limit driver distractions
• How to change lanes, make turns, maintain proper following distance and minimize the effect of blind spots.
• How to use seat belts, anti-lock brakes and air bags properly
• How to maintain physical flexibility
The program takes 8 hours to complete, however you do not have to do it all at once. You can log in and out as often as you wish, allowing yourself to take as many breaks as needed. The cost of the course is $15.95 for AARP members and $19.95 for non-members. You can pay through AARP’s secure website using your credit card. Once the course is completed you will receive a certificate within 5-15 business days.
